Conference Registration: It is important to note that the dates for the rescheduled conference for February 13-14, 2025, were imposed by Sea Palms. GATE’s agreement with the February dates allows GATE to comply with the established contract, which includes an attrition clause. Thus, no refunds will be given. We typically sign contracts a year ahead of the annual conference, and based on the traditional numbers of attendees, we guarantee that attendees will cover about 50 nights on Wednesdays, 50 nights on Thursdays, and 10 nights on Fridays. However, with the date change, we are concerned that we will not be able to meet those numbers. The attrition clause requires us to pay for any decrease in the number of rooms we have committed to filling up. With the possible decrease in conference attendance and the amount of GATE funds available, we cannot offer refunds to those unable to attend the conference on the February 13-14 dates. We are hopeful that announcing the dates well in advance will allow conference registrants to make arrangements.
